We tested it against hyaluronic acid. It won.
In an in-vivo corneometer study, Upwell hydro humectant was measured against a base serum, 0.5% low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, and 0.5% high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. Skin moisture was measured before application and again at 30 minutes, 4 hours, and 8 hours. Upwell hydro was the only one of the four to show a statistically significant increase from baseline at all three time points (p<0.05) — and it significantly outperformed both low- and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid at 30 minutes.
